Eugene Thomas Brown passed away after a long illness on April 7, 2022, at the age of 90. He was born in the town of Mount Pleasant, NY, specifically the village of North Tarrytown (Sleepy Hollow) before ultimately settling in Quincy after failing in love with his bride to be.

He was a very proud member of the US Navy from 1950-55 and served aboard the USS Coral Sea CV-43, travelling all over the world. Post military service, he became a master Fleet Mechanic at Verizon and a Master Mechanic at Sears Automotive. He cherished being an active member and altar server (offertory) at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church for most of his life. He enjoyed sharing a bite out with his daughter, casting a line off the pier with his sons, visiting his eldest granddaughter & family in NH, a cold brew, his many radios, classic movies and watching football & baseball, where he never stopped rooting for New York. After retiring, he kept busy and enjoyed the company of his family and faithful dog.

Beloved husband of the late Ann Kathleen (McNeill), loving son of Layton & Elizabeth (Donahue); devoted father of Kathleen M Cristoferi of S. Weymouth, Michael E Brown of Hingham & Kevin J Brown of Stoughton; dear grandfather of Susan M Sutton of Hudson, NH , Lauren J Cristoferi of Marshfield, Kayla M Cristoferi of Brookfield, CT & the late Jennifer M Cristoferi; loving great grandfather of Zachary, Jonathan & Ryan Sutton of Hudson, NH; Eugene was the brother to the late Marion, Joseph, James, Virginia, Edwin, John, Veronica, Lawrence, Evelyn, Helen, Beatrice, Donald, Geraldine, William, Shirley, Betty & Gail.

He was known for his generous nature and happy-go-lucky spirit. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He is now at peace in Heaven with all those he had missed over the years.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, April 12th from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. There will be a service in the Funeral Home at 11:00AM, with burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
